Take a screenshot

  1. Press Shift + Ctrl + Show windows.




  1. In the menu at the bottom, select Screenshot .
  2. Select an option:    
    • Take a full screen screenshot .
    • Take a partial screenshot .
    • Take a window screenshot .

Tip: You can also take a screenshot with the menu at the bottom right.

  1. Select the time.
  2. Select Screen capture .

  1. Go to ‘Quick Settings’, and select ‘Screen Capture

(Make sure the content you want to capture is on your screen.)




  1. On the ‘Screen Capture’ tool, select whether you want to capture all of your screen, a single window, or a specific part of your screen.

(You can also choose to record some or all of your screen.)




  1. After you make your selection, click ‘Capture’ on the screen.




  1. Once completed, the screenshot or recording will show up in *Tote **on your shelf, and will be automatically copied to your Clipboard.




*What is Tote? – Tote is a holding area on your Chromebook shelf that keeps your important files right at your fingertips. Google has provided updates to Tote like access to files you've scanned, diagnostic reports, saved PDFs and more.


**How do I enable Tote? – To keep handy, right-click and select ‘pin to shelf’ or drag it to your shelf until it shows as an icon. From the Files app, right click or drag a file to Tote to pin it.
