Network Connection or Power Lost During Test Session

Question

What happens to a student's test if the network or power drops during a test session?

Answer

The process of resuming a test after a network or power outage depends on whether or not the testing app is closed or left open. Different scenarios are outlined below:

MAP Growth test left open and internet connection lost:

Once connectivity is restored, refresh the testing app.

If the outage lasts less than 30 minutes, the test will resume at the same question. If the outage lasts longer than 30 minutes, the test will automatically be suspended. The student must re-join the test session to continue their test. See How to resume a suspended test.

MAP Growth test closed and internet connection lost:

The test will need to be suspended and resumed from the proctor computer. The student will need to join the test session again.

Instructions to suspend and continue tests can be found here: Interrupt/Make Up.

Power or internet connection lost on proctor computer:

Students can continue to test. Proctor commands can be entered directly from student computer if necessary. See Keyboard Commands.

Once connectivity is restored on the proctor computer, refresh the Test Students page.

If power is lost, navigate to Manage Test Sessions > Return To Testing. The test session will remain active.
